  1. -I loved when it was brought up that when our goal is clear and in plain sight, it is easy to strive hard to reach it, but when we forget our goal - we loose sight of what the best choices are.
-I enjoyed thinking about the great gift of agency.
-I also like when it was brought up that sometimes our choices make us get stuck for a while until we are willing to make different choices.
-I really enjoyed hearing people share about the importance of sincere prayer.
-I liked talking about freedom and love vs bondage and selfishness.
-I loved hearing you sing Hope of Israel
-I really enjoyed the reflection time about the many choices we have and what it is that the Lord wants us to be doing. I learned some things.

Here are the rules and the scriptures/quotes with the choices we had in the choice game, in case anyone is interested (the signs led to different paths and you were trying to get to your family in the end - it was like a giant game board with youth as the moving pieces)

    Rules:
    1. You must read everything on the page before rolling the dice the first time you get to that sign.
Pay attention to the scripture or quote you are reading. It may help you later on in the game.
    2. You and your partner must take turns reading.
    3. You can only roll the die once at each sign and then you must do what your roll states
    4. You cannot give up until the time is up
    5. DO NOT MOVE THE SIGNS

"Right in the palm of your hand you have the wisdom of the ages—more importantly, the words of the prophets, from Old Testament days to President Thomas S. Monson. But if you don’t regularly recharge your cell phone, it is useless, and you feel lost and out of touch. You wouldn’t think of going a single day without charging your battery. As important as it is to leave home every day with a full charge on your cell phone, it is far more important to be fully charged spiritually. Every time you plug in your phone, use it as a reminder to ask yourself if you have plugged in to the most important source of spiritual power—prayer and scripture study, which will charge you with inspiration through the Holy Ghost"

    CHOICE:
You wake up in the morning and realize you have very little time left to get all of your inspirements done for Vanguard the next day. You know you should still read your scriptures, say your prayers, write in your journal and serve your family through chores before you start on school work.
    A. You put God first - You choose to trust in the Lord, do first things first (scriptures, prayer, family service), and then get to your Vanguard studies. Move to the station to your right
    B. You put your own wants first - You choose to skip the things that don’t have a deadline and work on your Vanguard studies first – you think you might have time to do the other stuff later… Move to the station to your left
    Roll the dice. If you roll a 1, 2 or a 3 – you choose A. If you roll a 4, 5, or 6 – you choose B

  2. It wouln't let me post them all (too long) so here are the rest:

    Alma 29:4-5
I ought not to harrow up in my desires the firm decree of a just God, for I know that he granteth unto men according to their desire, whether it be unto death or unto life; yea, I know that he allotteth unto men, yea, decreeth unto them decrees which are unalterable, according to their wills, whether they be unto salvation or unto destruction.
Yea, and I know that good and evil have come before all men; he that knoweth not good from evil is blameless; but he that knoweth good and evil, to him it is given according to his desires, whether he desireth good or evil, life or death, joy or remorse of conscience.

    CHOICE:
Your brother won’t stop teasing you in the way he likes to tease you all the time. You have asked him to stop several times, but he just laughs and keeps teasing. You choose to:
    A. Put your desire for peace above his feelings. You loose your temper, yell and call him a mean name, then you tell your mother to make him stop… go on the left path

    B. You think about his feelings before your own. You realize he wants to get your attention because he misses your company since you’ve been so busy lately. You desire his happiness so you play a short game with him before getting back to what you were doing… go on the righ path
Roll the dice. If you roll a 1,2,3, or 4 – you choose A. If you roll 5 or 6 – you choose B

"There are countless ways technology can distract you from what is most important. Follow the adage “Be where you are when you are there.” When you are driving, drive. When you are in class, focus on the lesson. When you are with your friends, give them the gift of your attention. Your brain cannot concentrate on two things at once"

    CHOICE:
You are studying on the computer when a friend tries to chat with you. Experience has taught you that if you chat with him/her, you will probably spend a lot more time than you meant to on the chat and your studies will be neglected. You choose to:
    A. Put God First – you know He has great need of you in building His kingdom and you need to be strict with yourself about your chatting time. You tell your friend that you need to study right now, but you can chat with him/her when your studying is done…you go left (towards center)
    B. Put your wants first – you choose to chat with him/her while you study and, as you predicted, it took a lot more time than you meant it to and you don’t get everything done that you meant to do… you go right
Roll the dice. If you roll a 1- You choose A. If you roll a 2,3,4,5,6 you choose B.

  3. Some more...
"My young brothers, if you are not proactive in educating your desires, the world will do it for you. Every day the world seeks to influence your desires, enticing you to buy something, click on something, play something, read or watch something. Ultimately, the choice is yours. You have agency. It is the power to not only act on your desires but also to refine, purify, and elevate your desires. Agency is your power to become. Each choice takes you closer to or further from what you are meant to become; each click has meaning. Always ask yourself, “Where will this choice lead?” Develop the ability to see beyond the moment."

    CHOICE:
You are invited to a regional dance by a friend who has never been to one before. You choose to:
    A. Put others’ feelings first: You go to the dance with him/her, make sure he/she makes friends, is included and has a nice first experience. You look around for others who may not be feeling included and reach out to them. Take the path to the right
    B. Put yourself first: You go to the dance because you hope you will dance with many good-looking people. You loose track of your friend because you keep looking for the boy/girl you like, and focus on him/her the whole night. You talk only with your close friends and try to get them to get that guy/girl to notice you. Take the path to the left
    C. You put others’ feelings first: You stay home and babysit for your parents who were hoping to go on a date that night. Take the path behind you.
    Roll the dice. If you roll a 1 or 2 - you choose A. If you roll a 3 or 4 – you choose B. If you roll a 5 or 6 – you choose C.

    D&C 11:12-14
12 And now, verily, verily, I say unto thee, put your trust in that Spirit which leadeth to do good—yea, to do justly, to walk humbly, to judge righteously; and this is my Spirit.
    13 Verily, verily, I say unto you, I will impart unto you of my Spirit, which shall enlighten your mind, which shall fill your soul with joy;
14 And then shall ye know, or by this shall you know, all things whatsoever you desire of me, which are pertaining unto things of righteousness, in faith believing in me that you shall receive.

    CHOICE:
You are at a Young Men (or Young Women) activity. You don’t particularly like the activity. You choose to:
    A. Put God and others first: You look for ways to serve while you are there by reaching out or helping clean up. You participate to show gratitude to your leaders for putting the activity together, even if you don’t really like it. Take the path ahead of you.
    B. Put yourself first: You sit on a corner and don’t talk to people. When anyone tries to talk to you, you complain about how lame the activity is and how you don’t want to participate. You play on your phone instead. Take the left path
    C. Put yourself fist: Leave the activity and never go back! Take the right path
Roll the dice. If you roll a 1 or 2 – you choose A. If you roll a 3 or 4 – you choose B. If you roll a 5 or 6, you choose C

"Satan wants to control your agency so he can control what you become. He knows that one of the best ways to do this is by trapping you with addictive behavior. Your choices determine whether technology will empower you or enslave you."

    CHOICE:
You are doing some research online and an inappropriate picture pops up on the screen. You choose to:
    A. Put God and your future family first: You listen to the prophets and look away quickly and turn off the computer until a parent can come take off the image (since you know that pushing the x at the will sometime pop up more pictures). Take the left path
    B. Put yourself first: You are curious so you look at it and click to see more. Take the right path
    Roll – If you roll a 2,3,4, or 5 - you choose A. If you roll a 1 or a 6 – you choose B

  4. D&C 137: 7-9
    Thus came the voice of the Lord unto me, saying: All who have died without a knowledge of this gospel, who would have received it if they had been permitted to tarry, shall be heirs of the celestial kingdom of God;
    Also all that shall die henceforth without a knowledge of it, who would have received it with all their hearts, shall be heirs of that kingdom;
For I, the Lord, will judge all men according to their works, according to the desire of their hearts.
    CHOICE:
You make the mistake of staying up to late at night and your alarm clock goes off. You really want to just go back to sleep. You choose:
    A. Put yourself first – You turn the alarm off – you are tired and nothing else matters. Go to the left
    B. Put others first – You get up - if you don’t go to seminary, you may miss the opportunity to bless someone in need. Go to the right
    C. Put God first – You get up – if you miss the seminary lesson, you may miss a message that God inspired the teacher to give you. Go on the path ahead of you
    D. Put yourself first – You get up – you don’t want to get in trouble, but you mope all morning about how tired you are. Go to the left
    E. Put God first – You stay in bed. You felt right about staying up really late with a sick family member and you feel your body needs rest in order to be in tune with the Spirit that day. Go to the right
    F. Put yourself first – You get up and participate in class so that everyone can see how awesome you are. You let them know the sacrifice it was to be there that day. Go on the path ahead of you
    Roll. If you roll a 1 – you choose A, If you roll a 2 – you choose B, If you roll a 3 – you choose C, If you roll a 4 – you choose D. If you roll a 5 – you choose E, if you roll a 6 – you choose F.

"[Connecting to God] will help you know the mind and will of the Lord to make the small but important daily choices that determine your direction. Many of us immediately stop whatever we are doing to read a text message—should we not place even more importance on messages from the Lord? Neglecting to connect to this power should be unthinkable to us"

    CHOICE:
You are in the middle of a book when you see a sibling in tears. The Spirit prompts you to go talk to him/her.
    A. Put God and your sibling first: You put down the book, even though you are at an exciting part and you go see how you can help your sibling.
    B. Put yourself first: You keep reading – if no one has helped him/her when you are done with this chapter, maybe you’ll go see what’s wrong.
Roll: If you roll even – go to the right. If you roll odd – go to the left

Elder Bruce R. McConkie said: “In a real though figurative sense, the book of life is the record of the acts of men as such record is written in their own bodies. … That is, every thought, word, and deed has an [effect] on the human body; all these leave their marks, marks which can be read by Him who is Eternal as easily as the words in a book can be read”

    CHOICE:
You find you are overwhelmed with too many things to do all of the time. You don’t have time to build family relationships or to seek God’s will for you. You choose:
    A. Put yourself first: Keep doing all that you are doing, you don’t like to quit things. Live in a state of stress – not conducive to the Spirit. Go on the path behind you
    B. Put yourself first: Keep doing all you are doing, you don’t want anyone to think bad of you – including yourself. Live in a state of overwhelm – not conducive to the Spirit. Go on the path behind you
    C. Put God first: Ask God what are the most important things to have on your plate – seek a confirming witness about each one and learn what He would have you learn at this time. Go to the left
    D. Put others first: Do those things that you feel will bless others the most (now and in the future) and drop the rest – then see if you feel prompted to pick anything back up. Go to the right
    Roll. If you roll a 1 – you choose A. If you roll a 2 – you choose B. If you roll a 3 or 5 – you choose C. If you roll a 4 or 6 – you choose D.

  5. “The abundance of choice, however, carries with it an equal portion of accountability. It facilitates your access to both the very best and the very worst the world has to offer. With it you can accomplish great things in a short period of time, or you can get caught up in endless loops of triviality that waste your time and degrade your potential. With the click of a button, you can access whatever your heart desires. That’s the key—what does your heart desire? What do you gravitate toward? Where will your desires lead?”

    CHOICE:
You give yourself 15 minutes to peruse google+ knowing you have quite a few more things to do. After 15 minutes, you are still reading the posts and want to keep reading. You choose:
    A. Put yourself first: You keep reading and ignore the time. You can just stay up late to finish the other stuff if you don’t get it done. Go to the right
    B. Put God first: You know you had been prompted in the past to limit your time on google+ and that is why you set the timer. You are faithful to that prompting and turn it off for the day to get back to what is more important. Go to the left
If you roll odd – you choose A. If you roll even – you choose B

    MORE CHOICES = MORE OPPORTUNITIES
More choices mean more opportunities; more opportunities mean more potential to do good and, unfortunately, evil. I believe that God sent you here at this time because He trusts you to successfully discern among the mind-boggling choices available.
    CHOICE:
You have a lot to do one day. You have to finish a book, study for a test that is the following day, you have dishes piled up for you to do, and you are in charge of the thought for seminary the next day. You choose to:
    A. Put yourself first: You frantically get to work to try to get it all done and snap at anyone who interrupts your precious time. Go to the right
    B. Put God first: You ask God what the most important thing to get done that day is, and do that first. Then you love everyone around you in the process. If you don’t get everything finished, you trust God that it will turn out alright since you put him first and His most important work got done. Go on the path ahead to the finish!
    C. Put Others first: You ask yourself which of those choices has the most potential for good for others and you do those first, trusting the Spirit will let you know if you chose wrong and will help you know what is right since your intentions are good. Go on the path behind you.
    D. Put yourself first: You play video games instead. Go to the left
If you roll 1 – you choose B. If you roll 2 – you choose A. If you roll 3 or 4 - you choose D. If you roll 5 or 6 – you choose C.

  6. The Internet also records your desires, expressed in the form of searches and clicks. There are legions waiting to fill those desires. As you surf the Internet, you leave tracks—what you communicate, where you have been, how long you have been there, and the kinds of things that interest you. In this way, the Internet creates a cyber profile for you—in a sense, your “cyber book of life.” As in life, the Internet will give you more and more of what you seek. If your desires are pure, the Internet can magnify them, making it ever easier to engage in worthy pursuits. But the opposite is also true.

CHOICE: You get on the internet to do family research. You choose:
    A. To put God and others first. You look for names to take to the temple and stories
    B. Impossible – you can’t be selfish when doing family history work 
    If you roll 1,2,3,4,5,or 6 – you choose A

“What we insistently desire, over time, is what we will eventually become and what we will receive in eternity. .. Only by educating and training our desires can they become our allies instead of our enemies!” –Neal A. Maxwell

    CHOICE:
You seem to lack the desire to study or learn. You just want to take it easy and watch TV, read thrilling books, or play video games. You choose to:
    A. Put yourself first: You do those things since that is what you feel like doing. Go to the right
    B. Put God and other’s first: You trust God that you will find joy in doing His will. You choose practice some skills and do your Vanguard work because you know that there are people who you are meant to bless, if only you prepare yourself to do God’s work for you. Go to the left
If you roll 1 or 6 – you choose B. If you roll 2,3,4 or 5 – you choose A.

    Alma 41:3-4
And it is requisite with the justice of God that men should be judged according to their works; and if their works were good in this life, and the desires of their hearts were good, that they should also, at the last day, be restored unto that which is good.
And if their works are evil they shall be restored unto them for evil. Therefore, all things shall be restored to their proper order, every thing to its natural frame—mortality raised to immortality, corruption to incorruption—raised to endless happiness to inherit the kingdom of God, or to endless misery to inherit the kingdom of the devil, the one on one hand, the other on the other

    CHOICE:
A friend is having a birthday party at the same time as your Family Home Evening night. You choose:
    A. Put God first: You stay home because you know that Family Home Evening is a commandment and should be a priority. Go to the left
    B. Put others first: You stay home because it would make you family happy. Go to the left
    C. Put others first: You go to the party after asking your family if you can postpone family home evening, since this is a friend who needs your support during some difficult times. Go to the left
    D. Put yourself first: You go to the party because there is cake. Go to the right
Roll. If you roll 1 – you choose A, if you roll 2, you choose B. If you roll 3, you choose C. If you roll 4,5, or 6 – you choose D.

  7. Now, my young friends who are in your teenage years, always have the temple in your sights. Do nothing which will keep you from entering its doors and partaking of the sacred and eternal blessings there. I commend those of you who already go to the temple regularly to perform baptisms for the dead, arising in the very early hours of the morning so you can participate in such baptisms before school begins. I can think of no better way to start a day.

    CHOICE:
You go to the temple. You choose to:
    A. Put God and other’s first – you are at the temple
    B. Put yourself first – impossible, you are at the temple.
If you roll 1,2,3,4,5, or 6 – you choose A

I testify that this is the Lord’s Church. You were chosen to participate in His work at this time because He trusts you to make the right choices. You are the choice generation.

    CHOICE:
You know your family appreciates it when you go to devotional with them, but you have a lot of reading to do. You choose:
    A. Put yourself first: You would rather keep reading so you keep reading. Go on the path behind you.
    B. Put others first: You go to devotional because it pleases your mom and you participate because by doing so you help your mother teach the younger children the gospel with your insights. Go to the left
If you roll 1,2,3, or 4 you choose B. If you roll 5 or 6 you choose A.

    Mosiah 4:29-30
And finally, I cannot tell you all the things whereby ye may commit sin; for there are divers ways and means, even so many that I cannot number them.
But this much I can tell you, that if ye do not watch yourselves, and your thoughts, and your words, and your deeds, and observe the commandments of God, and continue in the faith of what ye have heard concerning the coming of our Lord, even unto the end of your lives, ye must perish. And now, O man, remember, and perish not.

    CHOICE:
You have been chatting with a particularly good looking friend of the opposite gender when the conversation gets a little more personal than friend level. You choose to:
    A. Put God and your friend’s feelings first: You think of your friend’s potential and how they will become preoccupied with this relationship and lose focus on developing their relationship to God. You know a romantic relationship at this time would also make YOU self –absorbed and unable to see the needs of others around you. You choose to change the conversation and help them see their eternal value by not letting them get involved in something before the timing is right. Go to the left
    B. Put yourself first: You like where this is going and you say things to your friend that will keep them thinking about you and not much else. You like being liked even though you know it will distract your friend from the more important things they should be focused on before their mission. Go on the path behind you
If you roll 1,4, 5 or 6 you choose A. If you roll 2 or 3– you choose B.

If you roll 2,3,4 or 5 – you choose A

  13. LAST ONE:

If you roll 2 or 3– you choose B
